Kart Racing
Kart racing (also sometimes called “karting”) is a motor sport featuring go karts on circuits. Like other forms of car racing, typically these circuits are oval-shaped—though there are straight-away tracks designed for sprint racing. There are also off-road circuits. Of course, there are different kart designs to compete on different kinds of tracks.
Kart racing requires a lot of skill and precision in steering and driving. It is also where you will see the best quality of go karts, with the highest capabilities. Super karts are capable of reaching 160 miles per hour, a pretty breathtaking speed when you consider the common association people have of go karts being a child’s toy.
For this reason, kart racing is often seen as a stepping stone to more advanced and more expensive motorsports. After all, these races do take place at very high speeds and require a lot of skill in precision handling in order to win. The principles in kart racing and racecar driving are essentially the same.
